STOCKHOLM – SWEDEN

Swedish animator Alli Sadegiani has been nominated for an Annie Award—animation’s most prestigious international honor—for his work on the Pixar series Win or Lose.

Sadegiani is nominated in the category Outstanding Achievement for Character Animation in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production at the 53rd Annie Awards. Individual Annie nominations for Swedish animators are very rare.

Win or Lose is an original animated series produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Disney+. The series follows a softball team during the week leading up to a decisive match, with each episode told from a different character’s perspective. The series is the most-nominated television/episodic production at this year’s Annie Awards, with a total of six nominations.

The Annie Awards are presented by the industry organization ASIFA-Hollywood and are widely regarded as animation’s equivalent of the Academy Awards. This year’s ceremony will take place on February 21, 2026, at Royce Hall, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), in Los Angeles.

The nomination represents an unusual level of international recognition for Swedish animation work on an individual level.
